As part of a short-term federal spending bill, phase in of the so called “Cadillac Tax” has been delayed from 2020 to 2022. This unpopular provision of the Affordable Care Act imposes a 40 percent excise tax on high-cost employer-sponsored health plans. The tax was delayed once before through the Consolidated Appropriates Act of 2016.
